We had the most joyous ‘In the Mood For Love Disco Glam’ wedding and it was simply the most magical experience we could have asked for! When we first approached The Tailory, I wanted a suit that reflected the playfulness and vibrancy in our sensibilities and our wedding design. We were playing with the classic reds and golds of a Chinese wedding but also the glitter and glam of a queer disco party. And as a person that runs hot, I did not want conventional suiting and I wanted to wear shorts! I call my suit concept ’the mullet’, a short jacket on top and long shirt in the back, both for style AND ventilation! We came up with a cropped bolero style jacket, a long dress shirt that almost felt like coattails, and knee length shorts. Shao was incredibly helpful working with me on the silhouette, the fabric, and button selection, and incorporating red trim in a nod to our color theme. She also suggesting a silk shirt designed for flow and breathability. Working together was such a fun process, and I love the suit fabric we selected, a dragon embroidered pattern in shimmering blue green. I also love that all the elements could all be worn separately in the future! And a special shout out to the Tailory team for being incredibly kind and gracious in the final weeks for helping to finish Anna’s gold wedding dress. We felt so comfortable and glamorous on the day of, from the ceremony to the dance party rager in the evening. We felt like disco royalty and most importantly we felt like US!

After struggling to find someone in my hometown in Wisconsin who could help me, I finally got the chance to work with the team at The Tailory, and let me just say—they made everything SO easy! I’ve always found it hard to get a suit that doesn’t feel too masculine but still brings out the parts of me I want to highlight. From our first Zoom call, I felt like they really understood what I was looking for. They even did a test fitting with me, and I got the chance to fly out to New York for it (which, let’s be honest, was such a fun excuse to visit). I could already tell during that fitting that the suit was going to be absolutely perfect. And it was! I had let them know I was planning to lose same weight during and they helped me create a schedule for my fittings to plan accordingly and i couldn't be more thankful 🥰 What really impressed me was how quickly everything came together. It all arrived way sooner than I expected, which gave us time for a couple of extra fittings to make sure the fit was spot-on. The whole process was smooth, fun, and just felt tailored (pun intended!) to me. I couldn’t be happier with the final result. The suit is everything I hoped for and more. And now I get to have the wedding of my dreams with the suit of my dreams! Thank you, Tailory, for making me feel like my best self. 5 stars isn’t enough!

I was searching for a designer who could deliver beyond the typical wedding suit, and I found exactly that with Shao and her team. From start to finish the custom suit experience was collaborative. The brief was to design a suit for our reception BUT it also had to be built to withstand a sweaty dance party. Shao took the time to listen to my vision and meticulously crafted every detail and exceeded expectations. The suit itself was a work of art; incorporating a unique fabric pattern that paid homage to my Mexican American heritage. Attention to detail began with custom silver buttons. To top it off the oversized white rose brooch represented Donna's Yorkshire background. Every element was designed to surprise and delight, making the suit a perfect blend of our personal stories and styles. If you’re looking for a tailor who combines creativity, personalization, and a deep understanding of individual tastes, Shao is the one to choose. I’ll never forget how special I felt wearing that suit and look forward to working with The Tailory again in the future.
