I discovered Yohji Yamamoto in the Autumn/Winter 2018-19 season, a turning point in my life that brought change, acceptance, strength, and love in ways I hadn’t imagined. Learning about his work—diving into his history, watching countless YouTube videos, fashion reviews, and absorbing every bit of content I could find—quickly became an obsession. To me, Yohji Yamamoto, along with his team, is a visionary designer who redefines avant-garde with unconventional tailoring for both women and men. His creations go beyond the idea of clothing, challenging traditional norms and establishing what is nothing short of a true icon. His work is minimalist yet not, meticulously cut yet oversized, structured yet loose, bold yet effortlessly relaxed. Every piece that I have loved captures a balance of strength and playfulness, that always succles me in. A boundless creative that extends beyond fashion into martial arts, music, photography, and more. Calling him a major force in fashion is an understatement; he has shaped the industry on his own terms, following a path entirely his own. There is strength in that. Typically, for a brand's flagship store in a foreign country, the inventory may not be the most comprehensive, especially considering the store's size. However, this store offers a sufficient selection to keep you engaged for 30 minutes to an hour if you're exploring unconventional or subculture-inspired fashion. Purchasing Yohji Yamamoto is not just about wearing a brand name; it’s about embracing the ideology of independence and uniqueness. Now, let’s talk about the in-store experience. From the moment I entered, I was warmly greeted by Katie, who, after seeing a few photos I had saved from the website, efficiently helped me locate nearly all the pieces I was looking for. Another staff member, Sato, who might be the store manager (though I didn’t confirm), was equally professional. He assisted me in trying on various outfits based on my original selections, and his recommendations were incredibly accurate demonstrating his expertise. Personally, I found that many of the tops and outerwear pieces had a similar aesthetic, perhaps due to the brand’s signature monotone style. Well stocked collection of Yohji pieces and an incredibly kind staff. I accidentally walked past the store and one of them called my attention cause they noticed I looked lost while wearing Yohji 😅. I'd be happy to come back soon.

Genuinely an amazing store and experience. Staff were very friendly, open to questions, and super helpful. The space is also curated very well. I came back twice in one day.
