In NYC for a few days and trying not to go to Jackson Heights in Queens to Little India decided to try Little India on Lexington Ave for clothes. Sadly all the stores that were there many years ago have closed and just a couple. This one was interesting with so many clothes and misc items stacked inside. Friendly owner and my wife bought some clothes. However beware there are 2 taxes even under $100, the NYC and another tax on top that made the purchase high. The next day visited Jackson Heights and paid the exact price.

I stepped into the store with a basic question about a saree alteration service (fall-beading for those in the know) that an Indian clothing store might provide. They didn't, which is perfectly acceptable. What was completely uncalled for was the brusque, aggressive manner of the male manager/employee in the store. He was unnecessarily rude, sounding offended at my simple question, and rudely interrupted another question I asked a different employee about the fits of their blouses, and gave a completely irrelevant response. I don't know if he was just having a bad day, or simply doesn't like/want Indian-origin customers. I have shopped here last year and was helped by a female manager, who was helpful and sweet. Not sure what's with this guy and his silly attitude. Not that rudeness is ever justified, but this store is no Sabyasachi.

Absolutely amazing magic store. They made me feel like a princess! The owner of the store took her time to select the best fitting outfit for my occasion within my budget. I loved all the colors and quality is really good. They really made me feel special and appreciated. I would recommend this store to anyone who is looking for Indian traditional clothing or jewelry. They really care about their costumers!

Such an incredible experience with the whole team! They worked with my budget and gave me two gorgeous looks for one of my most favorite people’s wedding. When it started pouring rain as I was about to leave, they made sure I had a bag to keep my new beautiful garments safe! Thank you so much again!

This store is a hidden gem. I walked in looking for an outfit for my mehndi ceremony and Javed helped me right away, pulling so many amazing options, down to the accessories. You can mix and match tops and bottoms. There are so many truly unique and classic pieces. Before my friend told me about this store, I was going to Jersey or shopping online for Indian outfits. This will be my go to store from now on!
