Went on a trip to NYC shop owners super nice and helpful. Was able to try on quite abit so I bought a couple things in store and know what my ordering size is for most brands. I've been super happy with each piece I've purchased.

Selection of niche labels is good, unique pieces. They carry labels that you can’t find anywhere else in the city. If I were to rate this store based on their selection and taste, easily 5 stars. I’ve been to this store a few times in the last few years and am no stranger to purchasing avant-garde clothing and designer clothing. (I’m a regular customer at Atelier, which is right across the street.) However today the staff was incredibly rude to me. I entered the store with a sparkling water, and was immediately told to put it on the table by the salesperson. I can understand that the merchandise is precious and risking an accident of the liquid sort can be devastating. During this instruction on where to place my drink, the salesperson made no eye contact with me and gestured towards a nearby table. When I first entered the store, I was also asked if I was looking for something specific, after communicating that I was just browsing, immediately the salesperson’s expression changed. I no longer felt welcome inside the store, as their expression turned into a scowl. So far this story is quite ordinary, in fact I was not offended at this point. To be discerning of your customer and protective of the merchandise is protocol after all. I completely understand. It was only after I requested to try on a coat that I really felt disrespected. Making no eye contact, and with a blunt and harsh tone, the salesperson pointed at the nearby mirror, without even looking at me. It felt rude. When I asked why she was being rude, she immediately became defensive of her previous tone. “How am I being rude? Drinks aren’t allowed, you asked to try it on, I showed you the mirror.” “I didn’t say you couldn’t try it on.” I proceeded to try on the coat and distance myself from her, later I asked what the material was. She looked on the inside of the garment and apologized, “I’m sorry it doesn’t say what the material is.” Really she should have apologized for treating me with such disrespect. Although I consider myself to be a sensitive person, I can discern whether or not someone is being kind to me. Perhaps she was having a hard and difficult day, but that is no reason to treat customers poorly. Regardless, I will not be coming back as the pieces are overpriced compared to other retailers that carry the same labels. Thank you for reading.

i didn't realize this was more of a high-end store, so unfortunately the pieces were a bit out of my budget and ultimately i didn't purchase anything. DESPITE THAT the employees were very kind and helpful!! everything i saw while i browsed was exactly my taste, looked very high quality and was appropriately priced! i will definitely be back if my budget ever aligns :)

Best shop for alternative clothing in NYC! A lot of different designer brands from desert warrior to punk to bdsm fashion. Not to forget about the headpieces, masks & jewellery. Very friendly and helpful stuff.
