    This store is a gem in nyc. The selection of items ranges from playful to exquisite. I love the broad range of colors and always find things that suit the festivity I’m shopping for. Luxor is wonderful and runs the shop with minimal to no help so be patient at check out. Chat with her and you’ll learn a lot of fashion history and life. Definitely do not miss this place.

    I travel often and I shop a lot. This is the best shopping experience I have ever had. Luxor is magical, like her boutique. She is refined and exquisite. She knows the world and the people in it. Second time I visited, she conversed with me in perfect French. She always ends the visit with a "A votre service, Seniora". The clothes she sells, you will not find them anywhere else. Beautiful textiles, Couture styles, all mixed in together in a shop that feels like a "bric a brac", a dash of Italian, plisse of Mayake, jackard a la Chanel, embroideries of Arabia and Persia. People who shop in luxury 5th Avenue boutiques, please do not try. people like me who dream of La Boheme, this is your place. Luxor, "je vous aime a l'Italienne".

    Purchased an expensive garment. Immediately realized that there was a stain on the garment before leaving the store. However, when I showed the owner the stains and asked for a refund, she explained that she did not know how to use the machine and could not give us a refund. She offered to take my address and send me the money in the mail. I did not feel confident that this would ever happen so I took the garment home to see if I could remove the stains and salvage the purchase. The stains did not come out so I decided to go back to the store and attempt to get my money back. Upon arriving at the store, the owner decided that she was no longer willing to provide a refund, and that she would only provide an exchange for something else in the store. She admitted that she originally offered a refund but that now she was only willing to provide an exchange. I recommend checking every item very closely before purchasing, and keep in mind that even if the item is defective, the owner is not willing to provide a refund.

    I hadn't been to Paracelso I over a year. but stopped in today. Luxor remembered me and we had a lovely chat, part in Italian (her native language) and, as usual, I found a unique piece that is now happily part of my wardrobe!

    Like every loyal customer of Paracelso I visited the store 2 Sundays ago but was very disappointed to find it closed. I was even worried about the charming business owners Luxor & Jeffrey so I decided to look for their phone numbers and check on them. I was able to reach Jeffrey and was happy to learn that both Luxor & Jeffrey were in good health and that their business had just relocated to 501 Broome street. I finally made it to the new store this last Saturday and congratulated Luxor . As always I enjoyed browsing her exotic collection and was ready to buy few dresses. While complementing Luxor on her unusual collection and quality she suddenly surprised me with this remark: ” Last time you were here you left upset… ” I answered: ” Yes, you have such a great memory..I was upset because you refused to give me a discount on this cotton dress I loved…! Luxor replies : ” Yes, and you took it on your way out! ” I was shocked to hear her False Accusation of stealing the dress!!! I answered : ” Luxor ..what are you talking about ? How can you dare insulting my dignity ?? I bought so many dresses from you and why would I steal the dress? It is true that I was disappointed that you refused to honor my offer but this does not mean to be accused of stealing it…..!!.. Luxor would not listen and kept repeating : You took it .. You took it.. Our argument got interrupted by a customer and I chose not to try defending myself more as she refused to listen.. I decided to talk to Jeffrey about this humiliation and false accusation..I said: ” I cannot believe Luxor accusation!! I have been a good customer for years!! Talk to her please.. ” Jeffrey replies: ” I cannot change Luxor mind and also my mother taught me never to argue with an Egyptian….!!! ” This was the straw that broke the camel’s back,… I was just s h o c k e d !!! Is it Prejudice, Hatred, Senility ? Luxor & Jeffrey whatever is going on in your mind you have just lost a very good customer who not only recommended you but who also cared…and I feel so sorry for you … Leave A Reply
