I have over 15 pieces of GIR and a couple I bought directly from this store. I love how the items have become a staple in my wardrobe with a simple look but high quality feel. I must be stopped from walking over to buy more but I’m a sucker for most of the cardigans and have become a big fan of cashmere since. What keeps me warm in NYC!

I wanted to buy a New Year’s present for my girlfriend from Guest in Residence, but my experience left me quite disappointed. I visited their Soho store on a Friday night at 6:30 PM, hoping to shop before their stated closing time of 7 PM. To my surprise, the store was already closed. The next day, I called during my lunch break to confirm their hours. The sales associate informed me that their opening and closing times are based on customer traffic. She suggested I call back after my meetings (around 5:45 PM) to check if anyone would be there. When I mentioned my experience the night before, she explained that if there aren’t customers around, they may close early. I pointed out that I am a potential customer, to which she agreed but still asked me to call back later. I called back after work as suggested, but no one picked up. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing something else for my girlfriend, which she loves—but I never got the chance to see the line I was excited about. This inconsistency in hours and the lack of reliable customer service have really turned me off from visiting this store again. It’s especially frustrating during the New Year season, when people are out looking for gifts after work. If you shop later in the day, be aware of their unpredictable hours during this time of year.

Bought the rib button in fuchsia and it's a gorgeous sweater - I haven't washed it yet but will update when I do. The store is so homey and wonderfully decorated - cozy and chic. But the store associates and the guest service team take this brand over the edge. I was so impressed by my in-store service on both visits. The store team makes you feel at home and supported in choosing the best pieces. The guest services team is second to none. I had an interaction with them recently and received the best service I've ever received at a retail store, let alone one in New York City. I'm a fan for life and will be recommending to all my friends and family. Thank you!
