Our Twitter Friends

The first thought for most people when coming across the idea of micro-blogging“why do I ever need to care what other people are doing now”. But once you play it for a while you will discover that it really is a great way to keep up on current events, find interesting people and keep in touch.

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Tweets are text-based posts of up to 140 characters displayed on the author's profile page and delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. Senders can restrict delivery to those in their circle of friends or, by default, allow open access. Users can send and receive tweets via the Twitter website, Short Message Service (SMS) or external applications.

In Jacco Fashion* we have found that the Twitter works much more efficient than the old-fashion email newsletter. We add new items almost every day. If we were sending email newsletter daily people could just go unsubscribe us or move us to spam list. So in the past we sent weekly to monthly newsletters. But very often some styles were sold out before next issue of newsletter went published, let alone the time we needed to spend on keeping a log of what were added since last newsletter issue. With Twitter we can just send a tweet the moment we add a new product. It is much convenient and efficent on our side. We know our customers love it too. As we look at our follower list which has grown bigger than the size of our previous newsletter subscribers.

One great thing about Twitter is its mobility. People can receive our latest tweets through an iphone, ipod or many other smartphones while on the move. If you are running a Smartphone or Pocket PC that has the Windows Live Messenger client running on it, likely you can also add a Twitter app so you can begin tweeting your brains out.

It works quite well. Follow us on Twitter and let the joys flow in.
